Long before I started Midwest Southern, I was an avid follower of several home decor accounts. Some personally inspired me and taught me so much, as Thomas and I renovated both of our homes. I wanted to share some appreciation and let you know who I recommend following if you are looking for some Instagram inspiration. Absolutely none of these ladies know about this post–and nothing is sponsored! These are just real people I recommend from my everyday home decor loving life.
Liz Marie Galvan
If you are a lover of farmhouse, chances are you are already familiar with Liz Marie. Liz and her husband, Jose have an adorable farm in Michigan. They’re restoring this historic house it into every farmhouse lovers dream. Liz has been very transparent with their struggles and triumphs in their business and personal lives. I love her authenticity and style.
Erin Kern was one of the first home decor bloggers I followed when I was only running my craft business. I love her style, as she has some real life budget DIYs for making any home farmhouse. Her home is so inspiring when it comes to seasonal decor and it shows with her many features in so few years of being on Instagram.
If you love to laugh, Natalie is your girl! She’s very real and gives great advice for those on a budget. She has some amazing vintage pieces throughout her home-just look at that vintage door display, vintage crock, and pew! Natalie also has an ETSY shop with some great prints–inspired by the southwest.
Our Faux Farmhouse
Holly and her husband Brad live in a new build that they are giving some major character and charm to. I first found them, building a vintage looking hood over their stove… everything they do themselves… giving some major inspiration to their viewers. They own “Urban Sips,” which is a fun portable beverage trailer! This couple is very innovative and have a great little family.
Sarah Joy Blog
Sarah is a police officer’s wife, former social worker, and crazy intelligent. She started her blog about five or six years ago as an outlet when her and her husband were renovating their home. It quickly turned into her full time gig. Sarah has a-m-a-z-i-n-g style and is budget friendly!
Seriously, one of the funnest little families on Instagram. Layla, her husband Kevin, and their little boy will make you laugh and warm your soul. They just renovated their home and attached a vintage barn that they converted into an “in-law” suite.
The Rambling Redhead
I think I have an obsession with really funny people on Instagram. Jennifer is a real life author of “W(h)ine: 50 Wines to Pair With Your Child’s Rotten Behavior.” She’s real, hilarious, and so full of life. The family just added a new sweetie, to the family of five. Jennifer’s style is modern farmhouse–I love her modern style.
If you have a deep appreciation for budget decor you will LOVE Kate. She’s an ambassador for Orange County’s Goodwill, Home Depot Partner, and flips (plus builds) some amazing furniture. She has a very boho feel but in such an amazing way!
This is just the beginning of my long list of Instagram inspiration. I love that we live in a world where we can celebrate each other’s accomplishments, talents, and unique God-given abilities. I love how many of these ladies have let their homes shine to inspire people like myself. I hope they inspire you to make today a little more beautiful. In the meantime, head over to my Instagram or Pinterest for more inspiration on the daily.
