If you haven’t guessed it, the blog has been a little silent as of late. I try to be a little more consistent than I have been however, this “summer” has been well a little different on the home front this year. Instead of being elbows deep in projects, we’ve been stuck inside with rainy weather, flooding in the area, and just pure busyness with what life has dealt. Additionally, my husband was gone for 22 days and I am so flipping excited to announce that he is BACK from his travels!
The Current Reality
I try my best to remain positive on this blog and my social channels. However, I think it’s important to address the reality of what it’s like in NW Missouri at the moment.
The interstate is closed to the nearest metropolitan city, making travel difficult and lengthy. There has been little sun, making our garden several weeks behind schedule… I just harvested our first crop of lettuce, which generally is done in early May. This schedule is much worse for many of those that make their career off of farming in the community.
The year of 2019 has proven to be a difficult one for many in our community and it’s only June. Continue to pray for Nebraska, Iowa, and parts of Missouri and Kansas as many have lost their homes and livelihoods due to this catastrophic year.
We do however have a lot of projects underway–projects that will make enormous impact on our home. I can hardly wait! Yesterday, we had three windows replaced, which will make a huge impact on efficiency and function in this fixer upper. I am so grateful for the work which was done.
Cosmetically, we are planning to make a big change on the exterior of our home this year and I can’t wait to tell (and show) you what a difference it will be! Stay tuned as we set aside time to do this much needed work.
I also plan to have a few guests join me on the blog this summer and even fall, stay tuned for some new perspective and amazing tips from experts in their field!
I plan to start back up this blog with some more consistent posts. Stay tuned for some amazing new projects to come! For daily updates and inspiration be sure to follow along on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest!
